Finidi Sitting On A Time Bomb” – Nigeria Coach Warned Against Following Peseiro’s Style

Nigeria football legend, Segun Odegbami, has warned Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George, against adopting the same coaching style as his predecessor, Jose Peseiro. Odegbami believes that Finidi is “sitting on a time bomb” if he fails to develop his own unique approach to the game, according to Soccernet.

Finidi, who worked as an assistant to Peseiro during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, has been praised for his promise to adopt a more offensive playing style. However, Odegbami is cautioning him against relying too heavily on Peseiro’s defense-first strategy, which was criticized for being unimpressive and causing anxiety among fans.

According to Odegbami, Peseiro’s style was “never convincing” and only brought “luck” to the team, rather than genuine success.
