The Federal Government has warned hoteliers across the country not to harbour teenagers and underage girls in their facilities or risk being sanctioned.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, read the riot acts on Saturday at the ‘Unlock Training and Grants’ ceremony in Abuja.
The programme, which saw 200 young entrepreneurs receive N100m, was organised by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education, Abiola Arogundade.
In January 2023, some students of Federal Government College in Ijanikin, Lagos, were caught absconding from school to lodge female classmates in hotels for sexual romp.
‘I Don’t Have Land In Guzape Area Of FCT’ – Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu on Saturday said he has no plot of land in Guzape district of Abuja.
Guzape district is a not-so-new highbrow area located in the Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
He spoke while inaugurating a road project in the Guzape district.
Tinubu said: “I stand here as President; I do not have a plot of land here (Guzape District). But I have the people’s support and the mandate to deliver a good quality of life and a living environment.”
The President further said that he’s still rejigging the financial system of the country.
Tinubu noted that rejigging the system would bring about progress.

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has urged the leadership of Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) not to relent on their struggle to demand for an increment of the national minimum wage.
In a press statement on Saturday by the party, the PRP noted that the policies implemented so far by the current government of Bola Tinubu were targeted to make Nigerians poorer.
Recall that the labour unions embarked on nationwide strike on Monday which affected socio-economic activities in the country for more than 24 hours.
On the 3rd of June, the NLC and TUC embarked on a nationwide strike action to secure, among other things, a national minimum wage for Nigerian workers.
EFCC raids night clubs in Ondo, arrests groom, 49 others during bachelor’s eve
No fewer than fifty suspected Internet fraudsters, including a groom-to-be, were weekend arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who raided two-night clubs in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
The groom-to-be and his friends who were at one of the night clubs for his bachelor’s eve, were arrested and whisked away by the security operatives.
