A former Media Aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, on Saturday prayed that former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar should step down for his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, in 2027.
Onochie said Atiku stepping down for Obi would make President Bola Tinubu’s reelection easier.
Posting on X, Onochie wrote: “Our Father and our God. Yes, it’s me, your son. I pray that Atiku steps down for Obi, so that 2027 would be an easy job for APC re-election.
“You know I never ask you for anything because you are a responsible father who provides for me, always. Thank you for answered prayer.”
Gunmen kill two in Kogi community

Unknown gunmen have killed two youths in Ogbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
DAILY POST learnt that the incident happened on Friday.
It was further gathered that the gunmen, who were armed with sophisticated weapons, killed their victims without being intercepted by security agencies in the area.
A source who does not want to be named, said “Some gunmen identified as Fulani reportedly murdered two of our active youths committed to community assignment around the general area of Oyi River before ascending Ogbe Town here in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Adamawa police arrest stepmother for inflicting burns on children

The Adamawa State Police Command, has arrested a 23-year-old stepmother, Rachel Geoffrey, for allegedly inflicting severe burns on her 7-year-old and 3-year-old stepchildren.
This was made known in a statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, on X.com on Saturday.
According to the police statement, the stepmother intentionally set fire to the children’s hands as punishment for eating food she had saved for their father.
“On 15/5/2024 the Command arrested a 23-year-old Rachel Geoffrey a resident of Federal Housing estate, Girei local government area who on 14/5/2024 intentionally inflicted severe physical injuries on her 7 and 3 years stepchildren.
Edo monarch celebrates return of Benin artefacts from Germany

The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has expressed delight over the return of two artefacts by the German government through the Director General, National Commission for Museum and Monument, Olugbile Holloway on Saturday.
Oba Ewuare II, who was overjoyed thanked Holloway for the surprise, saying, “You don’t know what you have done but I am really grateful for this gesture.”
The Oba gave the DG a large chunk of white chalk to further show appreciation to Holloway.
