The Ijaws Are The Majority In Rivers State, Very Likely From All Indications, The Fourth Largest Ethnic Group In Nigeria – Prof. Okey Ikechukwu

Political Analyst, Professor Okey Ikechukwu, has praised the Ijaw ethnic group, the majority in Rivers State, for their resilience and patience.

In an interview with Arise News, he noted that despite being the fourth largest ethnic group in Nigeria, they have not always held positions of power. However, with the emergence of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, an Ijaw man, as the new leader of the state, the community sees a new hope.

Professor Ikechukwu described Governor Fubara as “cool, calm, and levelheaded,” who played a strategic game to achieve his position. He warned that underestimating Fubara’s patience and thoroughness would be a mistake, as he is likely to take decisive action to address the political crisis in the state.

The ongoing feud between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, has led to a probe into Wike’s activities, deepening the political crisis in Rivers State.
