NLC: Do You Know How Many People Died In Hospitals Because You Switched Off the Electricity?—Afegbua

During an interview with AIT, Kassim Afegbua, APC Chieftain, criticised the recent strike action by healthcare workers, which led to a blackout in hospitals, resulting in the loss of lives. Afegbua argued that strike actions should not be used in a struggling economy; instead, a more logical approach should be taken.

He emphasised the severity of the situation, comparing it to a hypothetical blackout in the UK and highlighting the catastrophic consequences.

According to him, “you don’t use strikes as an option under an economy that is already troubled, an economy that is undergoing storms and stress. What you should do is: you give a gap, you give room.
