Nigerian Army Dismisses Soldiers For Fleeing During Boko Haram Attack Over Lack Of Ammunition
According to Sahara reporters, The Nigerian Army has dismissed six soldiers for allegedly fleeing during a Boko Haram attack in Damboa, Borno State. The incident, which occurred earlier this month, saw the soldiers withdrawing from the battlefield, reportedly due to insufficient ammunition. Sources revealed that over 10 soldiers were killed during the attack. The dismissed soldiers include PTE Olaniyi Emmanuel (19NA/78/0690), PTE Masa’udu Adamu (20NA/79/3745), PTE Abdul Azee Saleh (22NA/82/5192), PTE Mohammed Mohammed (22NA/82/1721), PTE Adah Toye (22NA/82/1191), and PTE Hassan Abubakar (22NA/82/1909).
A source close to the dismissed soldiers criticized the army’s decision, arguing that the men fled the battlefield after exhausting their ammunition. According to the source, the soldiers were not adequately equipped to combat the Boko Haram terrorists, a recurring complaint among Nigerian troops.
