Peter Obi Is Perpetually Shopping For A Party Where He Can Clinch Tickets Uncontested — Felix Morka

The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Felix Morka, has criticized former presidential candidate Peter Obi, accusing him of lacking commitment to party-building.

Morka made the remarks during an appearance on Channels Television Sunday Politics, where he reacted to the recent opposition leaders’ summit held in Ibadan.

“Peter Obi is perpetually shopping for a party where he can clinch tickets uncontested; he does not want to build a party; he cannot build a party,” Morka said.

He also took aim at the broader opposition coalition, alleging that its members have failed to present a clear agenda for Nigerians, instead focusing their attention on criticizing the ruling APC.

“When they huddled together in that hall in Ibadan, you’d think they’d spend time to talk about themselves and the plans they have for Nigeria. But yet again… they continued to obsess over the APC,” he added.

Morka further referenced internal challenges within the Peoples Democratic Party, attributing its current crisis to the actions of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during the 2023 presidential election.

According to him, Atiku’s emergence as the PDP candidate violated the party’s zoning principle, contributing to divisions within its ranks.

The APC spokesman’s comments have sparked reactions across political circles, with supporters of the opposition dismissing the claims as partisan criticism, while others argue that internal cohesion remains a challenge for opposition parties.

The Ibadan summit, which brought together key opposition figures, has continued to generate debate over the future of coalition politics and the readiness of opposition groups to present a united front ahead of the 2027 elections.
