According to a report by Times Of Israel on Saturday, April 11, 2026, Ugandan Chief of Defence Forces General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has said he is ready to deploy a large military force to support Israel if requested, in remarks made on social media amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
Kainerugaba, the son of Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni, stated that he could send “100,000 Ugandan soldiers” under his command to assist Israel. His comments were shared online and later circulated widely by international media.
He said the proposal was aimed at supporting Israel in its ongoing security challenges and suggested that Ugandan forces would be willing to act if formal cooperation was requested. The statement added that such a deployment would be conducted under his leadership if approved.
In earlier messages, Kainerugaba emphasized Uganda’s position on the conflict, saying the country stands with Israel and would respond if its existence were threatened. He also described the situation in the Middle East as one that requires urgent de-escalation.
His remarks come as he continues to publicly comment on international security developments through social media, often drawing attention for strong political and military statements.
The Ugandan military leadership has not issued an official government directive confirming any troop deployment, and no formal agreement between Uganda and Israel regarding such assistance has been announced.
Analysts note that Uganda maintains diplomatic and security relations with Israel, but any large-scale military involvement abroad would require state approval and international coordination.
