Political scientist Kunle Fagbemi has called for a thorough investigation into the controversy surrounding the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, describing the development as a matter with serious implications for governance and national security.
He also urged that Femi Gbajabiamila proceed on administrative leave while the issues raised are independently examined.

Speaking on the reported controversy, he stressed that the matter should not be treated as an ordinary political dispute because of its potential impact on the presidency and the country’s security framework.
He emphasized that the protection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must remain a priority regardless of political considerations.
According to Fagbemi, questions should be answered about how an agency alleged to be fictitious was able to operate from the Federal Secretariat and reportedly secure a budget allocation without attracting the attention of the relevant oversight institutions.
He argued that the situation points to weaknesses in administrative and security systems that require immediate attention from government authorities.
The political scientist urged security agencies to review access procedures within the State House and verify the identities of individuals currently occupying offices in the Presidential Villa.
He maintained that such steps would strengthen existing safeguards and help prevent similar situations in the future.
Fagbemi further warned that public confidence in government institutions could be affected if the allegations are not fully investigated and those found responsible are not held accountable.
