Gbajabiamila Asked Dabiri To Call Me If I Could Take Down The Story I Wrote On Him, I Said No–Sowore

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that Femi Gbajabiamila once tried to have a report about him removed through Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

Speaking during an interview shared by SYMFONI while discussing the PFIPC scandal, Sowore claimed he was the journalist who exposed Gbajabiamila over an alleged incident involving $25,000 from a client in Atlanta during his time as a lawyer. He further alleged that the incident led to the revocation of Gbajabiamila’s legal certificate and eventually influenced his return to Nigeria.

Sowore also claimed that after publishing the story, Gbajabiamila asked Dabiri to contact him and persuade him to take it down. According to him, he refused because he believed the report should remain as part of the historical record.

He argued that if he had agreed to remove the story, many people would not know what he described as Gbajabiamila’s true character today.

The comments come amid controversy surrounding the PFIPC scandal, in which Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew, who presented himself as the agency’s Director-General, accused Gbajabiamila of receiving ₦400 million through a proxy and demanding an additional ₦200 million to facilitate his appointment. Gbajabiamila has strongly denied those allegations.
