Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has rejected the argument by some people that governing Anambra State which is a small state disqualifies him from leading Nigeria.
Speaking on Symfoni TV, Obi said, “People keep saying Anambra State is small. One of the best American presidents ever is Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton governed one of the smallest states in America — Arkansas. People saw what he was doing in Arkansas and brought him to the national stage, and he proved himself. It is very simple. If I can manage one naira, I can manage two naira. This has to do with character,” he said.
Obi also addressed scepticism about his ability to fight corruption, arguing that the battle starts at the very top. He stated that a leader who is personally clean, whose spouse and children are equally above board is already halfway to winning the war against graft.
