According to a report by Nigerian Tribune on Saturday, 2 May, 2026, The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has made a bold declaration regarding the forthcoming 2027 presidential election in Nigeria, stating that the outcome has already been determined by divine authority.
Speaking on Saturday during a workers’ meeting at the sprawling Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the respected cleric emphasized that human efforts, political calculations, and strategic maneuvering alone cannot dictate who will emerge as the nation’s next leader.
According to Pastor Adeboye, the ultimate decision rests with God, the sovereign owner of the universe.
“The next president has already been decided by God who owns the universe. It is not something we can determine by human effort alone. The will of God will be done,” he said to the gathering of RCCG workers.
Pastor Adeboye urged Nigerians not to allow themselves to be overwhelmed by the rising political tensions that typically accompany election cycles.
He reminded the audience that while citizens have a role to play in the democratic process, the direction of the country ultimately lies in the hands of the Almighty.
“I never said we should not be involved in politics, but we must understand that God has the final say in the affairs of men,” the cleric added.
He encouraged active and responsible participation in governance and civic duties, balanced with unwavering trust in divine sovereignty.
As political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, Pastor Adeboye called for calmness, prayerfulness, and adherence to the rule of law among Nigerians.
“We should do our part, but we should also keep on praying and trust God. That is what is satisfying to me,” he noted.
Pastor Adeboye’s remarks come at a time when discussions about potential successors to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the political landscape for 2027 are beginning to gain momentum across the country.
