Vanguard reports that Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has dismissed allegations that the church is politically affiliated with any party.
He emphasized that the church is a neutral place of worship that welcomes all Nigerians, regardless of their political connections.
During the church’s May Holy Ghost Service, which was themed “Excellent Counsel,” Adeboye responded to ongoing claims that the RCCG has links to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
He labeled these allegations as unfounded and contrary to the church’s inclusive character.
He stated that the RCCG continues to embody Nigeria’s diversity by uniting people from various political backgrounds in one community.
He stressed that individuals and leaders from different political parties are able to worship together without any discrimination or prejudice.
He pointed out that this reflects the church’s dedication to unity rather than political division.
In response to the accusations, Adeboye commented, “Some people claim that RCCG is an APC church. I simply smile.”
He went further to illustrate the church’s diversity, adding, “In RCCG, you will find a governor from the Peoples Democratic Party sitting down with a governor from the Labour Party, APC, and APGA.”
He clarified that the diverse political representation within the congregation reflects RCCG’s national perspective and inclusivity.
