Kwankwasiyya Leader Abdullahi Resigns From ADC In Kano On Kwankwaso’s Orders

According to a report by Daily Post, on Saturday May 2, 2026, Kabiru Adamu Abdullahi, a key figure in Kano State’s Kwankwasiyya movement, has decided to step down from his position in the All Democratic Congress (ADC).

Since Abdullahi is a prominent member of the Kwankwasiyya movement in the Kano political district of Dala, his departure from the ADC is likely to affect party affiliations in the run-up to the state’s upcoming elections.

In a letter dated May 1, 2026, Abdullahi—who is also running for the Kano State House of Assembly—announced his retirement, which is viewed as a significant event in local politics, particularly in Dala Local Government Area.

He informed the ADC chairman in Kofar Ruwa Ward of his decision to leave the party immediately in a letter he sent to that office.

He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be a part of the party and wished its leadership the best of luck going forward. He requested that his resignation be duly conveyed to the relevant party officials.

The lawmaker swiftly garnered attention from Kano supporters and political watchers after he made public his choice by sharing the letter on his Facebook page.

In a different post, Abdullahi elaborated on his reasoning, claiming that the leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso—who is often called Jagora by his devoted followers—had ordered him to resign.

‎“I hereby formally resign my membership of All Democratic Congress (ADC) at Kofar Ruwa Ward with immediate effect. Kindly accept this as my official notice and communicate same to the appropriate authorities. This is the order of Jagora,” he said…See More
