After Supreme Court Ruling,Wike Came Out Himself Yesterday When Nigerians Ignored His Loyalists—Sani

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Sani, has criticised the recent media chat held by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, describing his comments on the party’s leadership crisis as politically reckless.

He made the revelation during his appearance on Arise News on Thursday.

Wike, during the media chat on Wednesday, dismissed the legitimacy of the Aminu Turaki-led interim National Working Committee and challenged the faction to open a party secretariat in Abuja or establish a bank account for aspirants seeking nomination forms.

Reacting during an appearance on Arise News Morning Show on Thursday, Sani alleged that Wike was deliberately positioned by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to destabilise the PDP ahead of 2027 elections.

According to him, Wike only stepped forward publicly after attempts by his loyalists to convince Nigerians about the implications of the recent Supreme Court of Nigeria ruling which did not go in his favour.

“After trying to send his lieutenants to convince Nigerians about the Supreme Court ruling in his own narrative and failing, he decided to come out and do the talking himself,” Sani said.

He urged Nigerians to disregard the minister’s comments, claiming Wike was merely carrying out the agenda of political interests outside the PDP.

Sani also dismissed Wike’s remarks as intimidation tactics, insisting that the party leadership recognised by the faction remains confident and unshaken.

“What Wike said was just intimidation tactics, but the PDP is not bothered by that style. He knows we are now the legitimate occupants of Wadata House, and we are only waiting for the illegal occupants to move out,” he stated.
