Abass Mimiko, the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) governorship candidate in the last Ondo State election, has reaffirmed his long-standing support for President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking in an interview with PUNCH on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Mimiko said his backing for Tinubu predates the president’s election and remains unchanged. He added that he supports the president now and will continue to do so in the future.
He stressed that he remains a committed member of the Zenith Labour Party, noting that he does not view political parties as barriers to supporting good governance. According to him, parties are merely platforms for service delivery, and leaders who perform well deserve commendation regardless of political affiliation.
Mimiko added that his support for President Tinubu is based on his belief in leadership that delivers democratic benefits to the people.
