ADC chieftain Chief Dele Momodu has alleged that South-South governors who are now in the APC will mount an aggressive campaign to wipe out Peter Obi’s 2023 vote tallies in the region if he contests the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Arise TV, Momodu said, “If you have a minimum of two presidential candidates from the south, they will fight each other freely. And I can guarantee you the City Boys people are not joking. The South-South governors are not joking. They are going to come all out and try to obliterate Obi’s votes in 2027,” he said.
Chief Dele Momodu also dismissed the argument that combining Obi and Tinubu’s 2023 vote totals proves the North is respecting the zoning arrangement. He argued that such an analysis is fundamentally flawed, pointing out that Buhari was still alive during the 2023 election and that Tinubu outperformed Obi significantly in the North which is what drove his overall total higher.
