Human rights activist Barr. Okere Nnamdi has reacted strongly to comments made by lawyer and politician Kenneth Okonkwo regarding Peter Obi’s decision to leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, Kenneth Okonkwo reportedly criticised the former Anambra State governor, describing him as a coward for leaving the ADC and joining the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Responding during an interview on Arise News, Barr. Okere Nnamdi expressed disappointment with Okonkwo’s remarks, saying he felt ashamed of the legal practitioner over his public criticism of Obi.

Nnamdi described Okonkwo as a “shameless prodigal son” and compared him to other politicians he believes became bitter after political disagreements.

He argued that Peter Obi’s decision to defect was justified and should not be condemned in the manner it was.

According to Nnamdi, he personally shared important moments with Kenneth Okonkwo during the ADC legal proceedings at the Supreme Court, which made the criticism even more disappointing to him.
