According to a report by Daily Post on Saturday, May 2, 2026, Adetokunbo Pearse, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has stated that the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, is set to become the party’s presidential candidate through a consensus arrangement ahead of the next general election.
Pearse made this known during his appearance on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ on Saturday, where he spoke on the internal dynamics of the PDP and the party’s preparations for the forthcoming presidential race.
He presented Makinde as a central figure within the party’s future political strategy.
