Chibike Ikenga, the Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, has shed light on the outcome of the party’s screening exercise for aspirants, revealing that not all those who applied were cleared to contest in the upcoming political process.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Ikenga addressed concerns surrounding the transparency and inclusiveness of the screening conducted by the party’s committee in the state. His remarks come amid heightened political activity within the Rivers APC as preparations intensify ahead of future elections.
Providing insight into the scale of participation and the decisions made by the screening panel, Ikenga disclosed that a significant number of aspirants were involved, but only a portion successfully made it through the vetting stage. “I told you there are about 98 persons. And those 98 persons, all of them were not cleared. So some were cleared and some were not cleared,” he stated during the interview.
