Rivers: I Can’t Point Out Any Serious Thing That Wike Did; People Are Saying He Built Bridges—Wilcox
Political analyst Alesta Wilcox has expressed disappointment with the development record of former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike. In a recent interview on TVC, Wilcox acknowledged that there were some projects undertaken during Wike’s tenure but questioned their impact and sustainability.
Wilcox argued that Wike’s projects were more focused on showy infrastructure than meaningful improvements to the lives of Rivers State residents.
According to Wilcox, the only notable development in recent years was the legacy project initiated by Rotimi Amaechi’s government, which had a direct positive impact on the people. In contrast, Wilcox believes that Wike’s projects, including the construction of 13 bridges within a small area of Port Harcourt and Obio-Akpor, do not constitute sensible and reasonable development.

According to him, “We have been robbed of quality development, not that there was no development. Apart from the Rotimi Amaechi government that instituted what you can see as a legacy project that touches people directly (Wike), I can’t point out any serious thing that Wike did. People are saying he built bridges; upon that, his bridges—I mean, I know that within the space of Port Harcourt local government and Obio-Akpor, about 13 bridges were built.
