Social media users have taken to their official X account on Sunday, September 20, 2026 to react to the statement that human rights activist, Prof Chidi Odinkalu made about Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, Matthew Hassan Kukah after thugs attacked Peter Obi’s supporters in Delta state.
In the statement that Chidi Odinkalu shared on his official X account, he said it’s sad that Bishop Kukah who always promotes peace during elections doesn’t speak up whenever there is violence.
Prof Chidi Odinkalu said Bishop Kukah should caution members of the ruling party who have been making different threats ahead of the presidential election in 2027. The human rights activist stated that the clergyman needs to tell Nigerians if the Peace Accord was designed for peace or to service the ruling party.
According to Prof Chidi Odinkalu on his official X account;
“Bishop Kukah should go on record to say whether his Peace Accord is a serious thing or a design in the service of the ruling party”.
