As a response to the allegations made by Rotimi Amaechi, a former governor of Rivers State and a candidate for the presidency of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Dele Momodu has issued a statement. Amaechi indicated in an interview that he had witnessed Momodu criticise him over remarks criticising other ADC candidates, including Atiku Abubakar.
It was refuted by Dele Momodu that he insulted Amaechi in a statement that was published on his X account. He said that he was merely requesting that he refrain from making statements that were insulting to Atiku, whom he referred to as a gentleman who continues to show respect to people despite the fact that he is older than many of them.
In addition, Momodu referred to Amaechi as his close friend and brother, highlighting the fact that their relationship enables them to communicate openly with one another whenever it is required. According to him, the statement he made before was done out of genuine friendship and sincerity, and it was not intended to be an assault.
In addition, the media personality stated that he is of the same forthright temperament as Amaechi and that he is of the opinion that genuine friends ought to be able to provide each other with constructive criticism without causing any unneeded friction.
