Wike made the remarks in a video shared by Arise TV shortly after the ruling, stating that the court had upheld the legitimacy of the Abuja convention, which produced Abdulrahman as the party’s National Chairman.
He added that the judgment simultaneously invalidated the Ibadan convention that had earlier recognized Turaki as chairman, thereby settling the question of which leadership is legally binding.

He further argued that the decision reinforces the principle that political parties must operate strictly within their constitutions and respect judicial authority, regardless of the influence or position of individuals involved.
The minister also addressed ongoing political developments involving some senior party figures who were previously aligned with the disputed faction.
He specifically mentioned Bala Mohammed and Seyi Makinde, noting that he was uncertain about their future political alignment amid reports that they have been engaging in discussions with opposition coalitions outside the PDP structure.
Wike suggested that the broader coalition efforts being explored by these figures may themselves be facing internal disagreements and instability, although he did not provide further details.
He concluded by expressing doubt about the eventual political direction of the individuals involved, particularly as they continue participation in meetings outside the PDP’s established framework. His comments were captured in a segment of the broadcast….See More
