Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain Segun Showunmi has described the conduct of some opposition coalition figures as deeply immature, alleging that certain individuals have openly threatened to attack state institutions rather than pursue their grievances through legitimate channels.
Speaking in an interview with Channels TV, Showunmi said, “I have seen some of them insist that they are going to attack every institution of the state. When INEC gets a court order saying do something, they run in front of the gate, put placards in the hands of procured people, and jump around. And you ask yourself, ‘Are these people this immature?’ We are very lucky.”
Showunmi also singled out Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for particular criticism, accusing him of invoking references to dark historical episodes in a manner he found both reckless and intellectually dishonest.
He argued that the opposition figures making such inflammatory comparisons lack the ideological depth and moral authority of the historical figures they invoke.
He labelled them as a group of underperforming and largely inconsequential individuals whose response to political setbacks is to threaten the stability of the entire country rather than engage in the serious work of building a credible alternative….See More
