MKO: At About 10pm, Tinubu Called Him From The US On Phone And I Picked, He Was Eating- Doyin Okupe

The Former Director General of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Doyin Okupe, has disclosed that Bola Tinubu was the person who informed MKO Abiola, the exact time he would be arrested by the then military government, after he declared himself president.

While speaking, Mr Doyin Okupe disclosed that after MKO Abiola declared himself as the country’s President in the year 1993, Bola Tinubu called him (Abiola) on phone from the United States of America and he (Okupe) picked up the call because Abiola was eating and then handed the phone over to Abiola, after announcing the caller.

Speaking further, Okupe noted that after their discussion, Abiola told them that Tinubu has confirmed that he would be arrested by 12 midnight. He went on and noted that when the soldiers arrived to arrest him, Abiola’s wife Kudirat ran downstairs, and barricaded the gate, trying to prevent the soldiers from gaining access into the house. He went on and made it known that the soldiers later forced themselves in and arrested MKO Abiola.

Mr Doyin Okupe made this disclosure in a post he made on his official X handle on Sunday evening.
