JUST IN: Joy All Over Nigeria As Bola Tinubu Wins APC Presidential Primary In All States Announced So Far

President Bola Tinubu has won the All Progressives Congress presidential primary in the states where results have been announced so far, ahead of the 2027 general election.

The APC conducted its direct presidential primary across all 8,809 wards nationwide on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Two aspirants contested: incumbent President Bola Tinubu and Stanley Osifo. Results are being collated at the ward, local government, and state levels before final collation in Abuja.

In Osun State, Tinubu polled 100,880 votes to defeat Osifo, who recorded zero votes across the 332 wards. The state collation officer, Adegboyega Oyetola, declared the exercise peaceful and said the turnout showed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and Renewed Hope Agenda.

Zamfara State also declared Tinubu the winner, with 321,579 votes against Osifo’s 42 votes, according to Governor Dauda Lawal. In Kano State, Tinubu won the primary in Kabo Ward, Kabo Local Government Area, with Osifo polling zero votes. The Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, said the turnout was a positive signal ahead of 2027.

APC chapters in other states have mobilized for the exercise. In Anambra, State Chairman Senator Emmanuel Anosike said the party was fully prepared to ensure Tinubu emerged as the flagbearer and won in the state. Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori urged members to deliver strong support, saying the state was targeting at least 390,000 affirmation votes for the president.

The primary is being conducted under the APC’s approved guidelines for direct and consensus primaries, with state coordinators and collation officers overseeing the process in all 36 states and the FCT. The party said the exercise would reinforce unity and democratic values ahead of the 2027 polls.

As of now, results have been announced for Osun, Zamfara, and parts of Kano, with Tinubu declared the winner in each.
