In a recent video on Sunday, May 10th 2026, David Ibiyeomie has shared a personal testimony about his son’s recovery from a serious childhood health challenge and his later academic success, saying it demonstrated the power of faith and divine intervention.
The founder of Salvation Ministries recounted the experience during a sermon focused on healing, intelligence, and the role of spiritual belief in overcoming medical and academic limitations.
According to Ibiyeomie, his son was once diagnosed with a severe medical condition while still a child. He said the family sought medical attention at a hospital in Houston, United States, where doctors gave a concerning prognosis.
“The consultant looked at him and said this boy will never be intelligent,” he told the congregation. “They said the attack on his health will affect his ability to comprehend.”
The pastor explained that the medical opinion suggested the condition could have long-term effects on the child’s cognitive development, potentially limiting his academic performance.
However, Ibiyeomie said he rejected the report and chose to pray for his son instead of accepting the prognosis as final.
“I smiled,” he said during the sermon. “I said that is not possible.”
He testified that after prayer and faith, his son later experienced a significant turnaround in his health and went on to excel academically.
“When the Holy Ghost came upon him, he never wrote WAEC twice,” Ibiyeomie said, referring to academic examinations. “He cleared his first degree, his master’s, and had outstanding results.”
The cleric used the testimony to encourage worshippers not to accept negative reports about their health, education, or future, insisting that spiritual intervention can change outcomes.
“Somebody may say you cannot be intelligent,” he said. “But there is a vital force, the Holy Ghost.”
He added that individuals labeled as weak or limited by human assessment can achieve excellence when circumstances change through faith and divine help.
The testimony drew strong reactions from members of the congregation, many of whom responded with affirmations as the pastor spoke about healing and academic breakthrough.
Ibiyeomie concluded by encouraging believers to trust in what he described as God’s ability to transform destinies, stating that “no negative report has the final word over a person’s life….See More
