2027: Peter Obi is Not Afraid of Competing; Those Trying to Gag Him are the Ones Afraid — Tanko

Yunusa Tanko, the national coordinator of the obedient movement, has dismissed claims that Peter Obi is avoiding political competition. Speaking on a live broadcast, Tanko asserted that the narrative suggesting Obi is afraid of party primaries is entirely false. He argued that the move to the new party was a strategic necessity to escape internal sabotage. The opposition leader emphasized that Obi remains a formidable contender.

According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Channels Television, while discussing the recent defection to the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Yunusa Tanko addressed the allegations of cowardice. He stated, “those who have been trying to gag Peter Obi and ensure that he did not get any ticket are the ones that are actually afraid.”

The movement leader explained that the frequent change in political platforms was not due to a lack of integrity but a response to government infiltration. He claimed that powerful interests have consistently tried to create obstacles for the former governor. These booby traps were designed to prevent Obi from appearing on the ballot. Moving to the NDC provides a clean slate for their 2027 presidential ambitions.

Tanko further highlighted the growing support for the new coalition across the northern and southern regions of Nigeria. He noted that millions of citizens are registering because they are tired of the current economic hardships. The alliance between Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso is viewed by the movement as a rescue mission. They believe this partnership will finally provide a credible alternative to the ruling party.

In his concluding remarks, Tanko urged Nigerians to remain steadfast and ignore the propaganda being spread by political detractors. He insisted that the movement is focused on production rather than consumption to fix the economy. By joining forces under a new banner, the opposition aims to protect the democratic process from becoming a one party system. The coordinator promised that the fight for Nigeria has just begun….See More
