Yunusa Tanko, the national coordinator of the Obi-dient movement, has fired back at Kenneth Okonkwo following his recent criticisms, warning that the former party ally faces serious legal battles that deserve his immediate and undivided attention right now.
According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Channels Television on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, while addressing the fallout from the party primaries, he stated, “I think he should be concerned about the issue of the litigation that is already on him by Peter Obi and the former governor of Enugu State, as those are the two issues that he should be concerned about at the moment.”
The political chieftain dismissed the negative labels used against their movement, explaining that public figures who resort to media attacks should instead focus on defending their legal integrity before formal judicial bodies within the country.
Tanko noted that the movement remains completely unfazed by criticisms describing it as a mere online phenomenon, pointing out that their established structures across different states are fully ready for the upcoming political contests.
He added that the party leadership has consistently followed transparent internal mechanisms to resolve complaints arising from past exercises, ensuring that aggrieved aspirants receive a fair hearing through the designated internal appeal panels.
