Following rising tensions and the weakening of Iran’s conventional military capabilities, former Navy SEAL Mike Sarraille has urged the Biden administration to consider launching a second phase of strikes. He believes targeting critical infrastructure could further diminish the Iranian regime’s remaining power.

Speaking on Fox News on Monday, May 4, 2026, Sarraille described the initial wave of military operations as a highly effective first step that has significantly destabilized Iran’s leadership.

However, he emphasized that additional military action may be required to ensure Iran complies with U.S. red lines. According to him, Iranian leaders do not fully understand the extent of their current vulnerability.

Sarraille explained that the first phase of operations was the most intense and resulted in major damage to Iran’s military strength. He suggested advising the president to authorize another round of strikes, particularly on strategic infrastructure, to force the regime to recognize that it no longer holds meaningful leverage.

Despite suffering substantial losses, Sarraille pointed out that Iran is still attempting to assert control over the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for global oil shipments. He argued that the United States needs to take firm action to maintain stability in the region and prevent nuclear escalation.

He concluded by stating that current efforts may not be sufficient to achieve key objectives, such as halting nuclear development and stopping Iran from influencing the Strait of Hormuz.
