We’re Good To Go, NDC Have Zoned The Party’s Presidential Candidature To South – Buba Galadima

According to a report by The Sun on May 5, 2026, Buba Galadima, a close associate of Rabiu Kwankwaso, has disclosed that the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially zoned its 2027 presidential ticket to the southern region of the country.

Galadima explained that the decision followed internal consultations within the party, noting that key discussions on zoning have already been finalized. He added that the party is now shifting focus toward formal preparations for the upcoming election cycle, including compliance with regulatory requirements.

As part of its preparations, he revealed that the NDC is set to submit its membership register to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). According to him, this step represents a significant milestone in the party’s efforts to position itself as a strong contender ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He emphasized that there is a clear consensus within the party regarding the zoning arrangement, stressing that the presidential slot has been firmly allocated to the South without internal disagreement. Galadima maintained that the leadership remains united on this decision and is committed to ensuring a transparent process.

In addition, he stated that the party does not intend to impose a candidate. Instead, aspirants from the designated region will be allowed to contest through a democratic primary election. This, he said, is aimed at promoting fairness and giving all qualified contenders an equal opportunity to emerge as the party’s flag bearer.

Galadima reiterated that once these processes are completed, the party would be fully prepared to participate actively in the 2027 elections, expressing confidence in the NDC’s readiness and organizational direction….See More
