US Threat: Don’t Waste Our Soldiers; People Like Gumi Should Be Arrested, He’s Still Talking—Ayodele

Primate Elijah Ayodele has sounded the alarm over Nigeria’s ongoing security challenges, urging the government to take decisive action to protect its troops and hold controversial Islamic cleric Sheikh Ahmad Gumi accountable.

In a statement reflecting growing frustration with the authorities’ approach, Ayodele warned that the continued deployment of soldiers without tangible results is a waste of lives. “We don’t need to waste our soldiers. We don’t need to waste their lives,” he emphasized, calling for smarter strategies and stronger intelligence to tackle violent groups.

Ayodele specifically criticized Gumi, insisting that clerics or individuals who make statements that embolden extremist groups should face immediate arrest. “People like Gumi should be arrested,” he said, questioning why the government has yet to act against the controversial figure.

Addressing President Bola Tinubu directly, Ayodele raised a pointed question: “Is Tinubu afraid of terrorists?” His remark underscored a broader concern that hesitation or silence could be perceived as weakness, potentially worsening the nation’s security crisis.

The warning comes amid mounting pressure on the government over its handling of insecurity and foreign criticism following alleged attacks on Christians. Ayodele stressed that leadership carries responsibility and urged swift measures to prevent further loss of life and national embarrassment.

“We must protect our soldiers and stop sacrificing them unnecessarily,” he concluded, reinforcing the need for proactive governance and firm action against those fueling violence.Read More Details
