US List: We Have A Name From Southeast, But The Bulk Of The Other Names Come From The North-Dahiru

During an interview with AIT, Majeed Dahiru, a political analyst, has reacted to the list of Nigerians recently released by the United States in connection with alleged financial terrorism and terrorism financing, noting that the names mentioned appear to reflect Nigeria’s federal character but are largely dominated by individuals from the Muslim North.

Dahiru said he intentionally wanted the names to be read out publicly so Nigerians could observe the regional distribution of those involved.

According to him, “I deliberately wanted these names to be read out. You can see that the names appear to reflect federal character. We have a name from the southeast, we have a name from the southwest, and the bulk of the other names comes from the Muslim north. I’ll expect the Nigerian media in the next few days to carry out a proper profiling and reveal to Nigerians what they know about these people they have listed. We also expect the federal government collaborating with the United States government and authorities to also share critical intelligence that could establish a prima facie case against these people if indeed the US got its intel right about the involvement in the financial terrorism in Nigeria.”

He stressed that the Nigerian media has a responsibility to investigate the individuals named and provide the public with deeper insight into their backgrounds.

The analyst also urged the Federal Government to work closely with US authorities in sharing intelligence that could confirm whether there is credible evidence linking those listed to alleged financial terrorism activities….See More
