US President Donald Trump announced that the United States would launch strong strikes against Iran starting tonight and continuing through tomorrow as tensions escalated over control of the Strait of Hormuz.
According to a report by The Times of Israel on July 13, 2026, he stated that the American forces would hit them very hard tonight and hit them hard tomorrow, emphasizing that there was not a damn thing Iran could do about it.
According to Trump, Iran possessed nothing substantial beyond loud rhetoric and empty threats.
He minimized the significance of the memorandum of understanding signed with Iran the previous month, describing it merely as a test agreement that held little value since the United States was negotiating with dishonorable actors who failed to honor its conditions.
Iranian officials countered with similar complaints, asserting that the memorandum recognized their authority over the Strait of Hormuz and therefore required all passing vessels to comply with their regulations.
When questioned about supporting Iranian protesters opposed to the regime, Trump advised caution because the unarmed demonstrators stood little chance against security forces using lethal force to suppress them.
He admitted that he had never believed a successful popular uprising against the government was feasible, even after previously urging Iranians in a wartime speech to seize control of their country following any military actions.
Addressing accusations from Israeli journalists that he had undermined Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu through the recent agreement, which raised serious worries in Israel, Trump firmly rejected the claims.
He insisted that he maintained an excellent relationship with the Israeli leader.
