Tinubu Blows Hot: Nigerians Should Pray For Bandits And Terrorists To Abandon Their Evil Ways

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to pray for bandits and terrorists to abandon their criminal ways, saying the country will ultimately defeat all forces of evil.

The call was made in his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message issued on Tuesday, where the President addressed the ongoing insecurity plaguing parts of the country. Tinubu acknowledged that despite the efforts of security and intelligence agencies, including the recent elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, “heartless terrorists and bandits still attack some communities.

“I am aware that, despite the best efforts of our security and intelligence agencies, including the recent elimination of a wanted Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) leader, heartless terrorists and bandits still attack some communities,” he said.

The President assured affected Nigerians that they were “neither abandoned nor forgotten” and vowed that the government would ultimately defeat the forces of evil.

To Muslim faithful celebrating Eid-el-Kabir, Tinubu urged them to use the sacred occasion to pray for the country, for peace in communities, and for wisdom for those in leadership.

“Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law,” he stated. He also called on Nigerians to reach out to the less privileged and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that unite the country.

Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to building a Nigeria where citizens can live in peace, worship freely, and pursue their dreams without fear. He promised continued investment in security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital to fulfil the nation’s promise.

This is not the first time the President has spoken firmly on insecurity. In 2024, he warned terrorists and bandits to either surrender or face lethal consequences, saying “the days of these criminal elements are numbered.

On Tuesday, he maintained that stance while adding a spiritual dimension to the fight. “I am confident that, by the Grace of God, the reforms we have diligently pursued will continue to yield improved security and greater opportunities for all,” he said.
