The Impeachment Plot Has Failed, I Have Called On The People To Remain Calm And Focused- Chijioke Ihunwo

The former Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Govenment Area, Chijioke Ihunwo has stated that the impeachment plot against the governor of Rivers state, Siminalayi Fubara has failed.

This statement was contained in a post that he shared on his official X handle on Thursday, January 15, 2026.

This is coming after members of the Rivers State House of Assembly initiated impeachment proceedings against Siminalayi Fubara.

In the post that Chijioke Ihunwo shared on his official X handle, he said those who initiated the impeachment proceedings don’t care about the Rivers people but the interest of only one man. He told the people of Evo Constituency in Rivers state to remain calm and focused.

Chijioke Ihunwo stated that ahead of the presidential election in 2027, they will be supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Siminalayi Fubara.

“The impeachment plot has failed. I have called on the people of Evo Constituency 1 to remain calm, focused and unwavering in their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara ahead of a second term in 2027 election”.
