The event was attended by delegates from every Local Government in Rivers State, including members of the House of Assembly who had recently switched allegiances, demonstrating a strong unified stance.

In an interview with Arise News, Godspower Onuekwa, President General of the Ogbakor Ikwerre Worldwide Organization, emphasized the positive outcome of their visit to Governor Fubara, joined by delegates from every Local Government in Rivers State. Notably, there was also participation from legislators who recently switched allegiances, underscoring a cohesive and unified stance.

Onuekwa highlighted that the Ikwerre community has set aside past disagreements and now fully supports Governor Fubara, echoing the previous administration’s motto of “one Governor, one Rivers State.” This statement intends to clarify any uncertainty regarding their position and affirm their dedication to backing the present government.

“Even the previous administration, the former governor had a slogan indicating that the tenure of the former Rivers State Governor had ended and we now have only one Governor. The Ikwerre Ethnic Nationality felt it was appropriate for us to make a solidarity visit to him, and that visit was highly successful. It was supported by all the Local Governments in Rivers State. Even some members of the House of Assembly who had defected were present at the solidarity visit.
