Social media users have taken to their official X account on Friday, January 16, 2026 to react to the statement that was made by Nigerian activist, Dele Farotimi after Atiku’s son defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressive Congress, APC.
His reaction came after Atiku Abubakar stated that he doesn’t force his children to make political decisions.
According to Atiku Abubakar on his official X account;
“As a democrat, I do not coerce my own children in matters of conscience and I certainly will not coerce Nigerians. What truly concerns me is the poor governance of the APC and the severe economic and social hardships it has imposed on our people”.
Reacting, Dele Farotimi said it is true that a prophet has no honour in his own home.
According to Atiku Abubakar on his official X account;
“A prophet truly has no honour in his own home”.
