According to a report by Punch News on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Desmond Elliot, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has said that his prayer is that President Bola Tinubu returns as president for the second term. He said he wants him to leave a legacy that will surprise Nigerians.
Desmond said his focus is on making the people of Surulere happy so they’ll keep backing the APC. He added that with their support, they can help return his president for a second term and secure his legacy.
The lawmaker also said the political situation had drawn him closer to God. He noted that it deepened his faith, adding that you can’t be a politician without God.
Desmond said that after the APC primary, he remains a party member and will continue to follow the party’s direction. He added that his prayer is for President Bola Tinubu to return for a second term so he can leave behind a legacy that amazes people.
