JUST IN: They Carried Them Separately! – Lagos Lady’s Cry for Help as Mum, Brother Kidnapped in Ogun, Kidnappers Demand ₦50m

A Lagos-based lady is in distress after her mother and brother were allegedly kidnapped on their way to a farm in Ogun State, with the abductors now demanding a ₦50 million ransom for their release.

Narrating the ordeal on social media, the lady, identified only as Aminat, said her mother and brother left early yesterday morning before she woke up. They were heading to her mother’s farm in Ogun State when contact was suddenly lost.

“When they got there, I spoke with my brother, I spoke with my mum, we even sent pictures, and all of a sudden, he was not online,” she recounted. “It was his friend that reached out to me that my brother was not online, which is very, very unusual because he is always online.”

Aminat said she initially assumed it was a network issue or a dead battery, but her brother’s friend told her he had carried a big power bank.

“I said probably network issues since they were at the farm, in the middle of nowhere. Not until last night,” she said.

The situation took a terrifying turn when Aminat received a voice note from her mother late at night.

“‘Aminat, I have been kidnapped and they are demanding ₦100 million, but I have been able to plead with them to accept ₦50 million. Please help me look for it so they can release me,’” the voice note said.

Aminat said she tried to get details from her mother on the call, but someone hit her and snatched the phone. Since then, both her mother and brother’s lines have been unreachable.

This morning, her mother called again to ask how much had been raised, saying the kidnappers were demanding cash. When Aminat asked about her brother, her mother said she had not seen him because “they carried them separately.”

Aminat said she has been unable to reach her brother since the incident and is pleading with the public for help.

“I went out, got home tired and slept. I don’t know why I suddenly woke up, then I saw my mum’s notification came in,” she said, breaking down as she recounted the events.
