According to a video posted on Al Jazeera, on Friday 10, 2026, Mohammad Eslami, a research fellow at Tehran University, told Al Jazeera that those behind recent attacks on Iran have followed a pattern of striking the country while avoiding public acknowledgment of responsibility.

Eslami said this style of operation is not new, comparing it directly to past Israeli actions inside Iran.

He explained that responsibility for such attacks is rarely claimed openly, even when strong suspicion points to a particular actor, allowing those involved to avoid direct consequences or accountability.

He added that from an Iranian perspective, the recent explosions appear to carry a message meant for Tehran, particularly in the absence of active diplomatic talks between Iran and the United States.

Eslami suggested that allowing such operations to continue may be intended to pressure Iran back toward negotiations without an open military commitment.

In his words, Mohammad Eslami said, “they don’t want to take the responsibilities of the terrorist attacks on the Iranians on Iranian land, and the way that these attacks are happening right now in Iran is the same as other attacks by the Israelis in recent years,” he said.

Eslami noted that Iran has not been caught off guard by these developments, saying Iranian officials were largely anticipating this kind of activity following the earlier rounds of American strikes.
