According to a report by The Times Of Israel on May 1, 2026, Israel has reportedly deployed a version of its Iron Beam laser-based air defense system to the United Arab Emirates during the recent fighting with Iran. The move was aimed at strengthening the Gulf nation’s protection against missile and drone attacks, according to a report published by the Financial Times.
The British newspaper also reports that Israel sent a surveillance system known as Spectro, which is designed to detect Iranian drones from distances of up to 20 kilometers. A regional official said the deployment of such advanced technology demonstrates “the value of being Israel’s friend,” reflecting the growing security cooperation in the region.
In addition, the report states that Israel also deployed its Iron Dome air defense system to the UAE, along with military personnel to operate it. This detail was previously reported by Axios, further highlighting the scale of the operation.
“It’s not a small number of boots on the ground,” a person familiar with the matter is quoted as saying, referring to the presence of Israeli troops in the United Arab Emirates.
