If In 2027 We Have More Numbers, These Rules Will Work For Us, So We’re Just Watching Them -Ningi

Senator Abdul Ningi representing Bauchi State has alleged that the amended Senate standing rules being championed by Senate President Godswill Akpabio could ultimately backfire on the ruling party if the opposition gains stronger numbers in the 11th Senate.

Speaking on AIT News, Senator Ningi said, “If in 2027 we have more numbers, these rules will work for us, so we are just watching them. They assume that in 2027 they are going to come back with these numbers. As far as I am concerned, that is a foolish idea. And that is not something that should be enshrined in a rule that is in the Senate,” he said.

When asked directly whether he had defected to the ADC following a video that circulated suggesting he had, Ningi clarified that he remains a PDP member for now. He explained that the video showed him paying a visit to ADC leaders, noting that the former Senate President David Mark is a close personal friend and that many ADC chieftains also move in his circle.
