James Yohanna, one of the survivors of the deadly attack on Kum village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, has recounted how gunmen stormed his family compound late at night and attacked his relatives.

Yohanna narrated the incident while speaking to journalists about the attack, which left several people dead.
He said the attackers arrived at about 11:30 p.m. after he heard dogs barking continuously and the sound of boots around the compound. He said they first attacked his brother’s house, shooting him in the arm and leg before he managed to escape and hide.
He added that about 30 minutes later, the gunmen returned and forced their way into his son’s house. According to him, he heard his son pleading with the attackers not to harm the family before gunshots rang out.
