Fr Kelvin Ugwu: Ned Nwoko And Regina Daniels’ Union Was Built On Personal Gains, Not Commitment

Catholic priest and social analyst Fr Kelvin Ugwu has shared a detailed opinion on his verified Facebook page, @FrKelvinUgwu, addressing the ongoing controversy surrounding billionaire politician Senator Ned Nwoko and Nollywood actress Regina Daniels. According to him, their relationship was never founded on the principles of genuine marriage but rather on mutually beneficial personal interests.

In his post titled “Between Elder Ned and Baby Gina”, Fr Ugwu stated that Ned Nwoko is primarily interested in marrying virgins to align with his cultural beliefs, while Regina Daniels has openly pursued wealth, luxury, and elevated social status. He argued that both parties entered into the union to satisfy these desires, making the relationship appear more contractual than marital.

Fr Ugwu further asserted that the ongoing issues between the couple are a direct result of trying to classify a transactional arrangement as a true marriage. He wrote that marriage should not be based on material gain or physical purity but on sacrifice, emotional commitment, and a lifelong sense of responsibility to one another.

He likened their union to arrangements seen in some foreign countries, where individuals exchange money or citizenship under the guise of marriage, stressing that legality does not equal authenticity.

According to him, true marriage is built on love, sincerity, and mutual devotion—qualities he believes were not the foundation of Ned and Regina’s relationship. His commentary on @FrKelvinUgwu has sparked extensive conversation online, with many weighing in on the implications of transactional unions in modern society.
