For A Very Long Time, He Never Wanted The Traditional Ruler To Be Given The Staff Of Office-Aniagwu

According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Channels Television on Thursday, May 21, 2026, Delta State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, criticized Senator Ned Nwoko while defending the outcome of the APC Delta North senatorial primary election.

Speaking during an interview on the station’s Morning Brief programme, Aniagwu reacted to allegations made by Nwoko concerning the conduct of the primary election that produced former Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, as winner.

Aniagwu insisted that the primary election reflected the true position of party members across the district. He argued that Nwoko failed to maintain strong political relationships within his constituency and lacked adequate grassroots engagement ahead of the contest.

While explaining why many party members allegedly withdrew support from the senator, Aniagwu accused him of being disconnected from traditional institutions and local political structures in Delta North.

According to him, “For a very long time, he never wanted the traditional ruler to be given the staff of office.”
