Baron Trump, Son Of US President Schooling In New York Has 30 Secret Service People Around Him -Akande

Public Affairs Analyst, Laolu Akande has drawn attention to what he described as the extensive security architecture surrounding members of the United States First Family, using the example of Barron Trump, the teenage son of the U.S. President.

Akande made the remarks during an interview on Channels Television while discussing the broader subject of state security, privilege, and public accountability.

According to Akande, the U.S. Secret Service maintains a highly structured system that ensures the safety of the president, the vice president, and their immediate families, regardless of where they reside or attend school. “I was just reading up on this and it turned out that Baron Trump, the son of the U.S. president who is schooling in New York, has as much as 30 Secret Service people around him,” Akande stated, emphasizing the scale and sophistication of presidential protective operations in the United States. He explained that such security arrangements are handled routinely and professionally, guided by law rather than political sentiment.

Akande used the comparison to underscore the need for Nigeria to strengthen its own security management frameworks, especially concerning public officials and their families. He said that while robust protection is important, it must be designed in a way that does not burden institutions, compromise public resources, or create perceptions of abuse.
