In a recent interview shared by Arise News, Chairman of the ADC Legislators’ Forum, Honourable Uko Nkole, addressed growing concerns about Nigeria’s political climate and the role of key democratic institutions ahead of crucial legal decisions.
Nkole stated that members of the forum remain deeply worried about what they described as increasing pressure on opposition parties, particularly the African Democratic Congress (ADC). He maintained that the party has no internal crisis, insisting that the challenges it faces are largely driven by external forces seeking to weaken its structure and influence.
Speaking on the expectations from the judiciary, Nkole emphasized the importance of fairness and constitutional integrity. He noted that the Supreme Court holds a critical position in safeguarding democracy and must rise above any form of bias or influence.
According to him, “We are law-abiding citizens, and we do not expect the Supreme Court to turn a blind eye to injustice.”
He further stressed that the ADC remains committed to due process and will continue to pursue legal avenues to resolve disputes. Nkole added that the party has no intention of abandoning its platform, expressing confidence that justice will prevail.
