Tinubu’ll Be Working More With Fubara But No Matter What APC Isn’t Going To Take Rivers 2027 -Pearse

‎According to a report by Daily Post, on Monday January 26, 2026, Dr. Adetokunbo Pearse, a PDP leader in Lagos State, has stated that President Bola Tinubu is expected to work more closely with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara than with Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎According to Pearse, Wike abandoned the role he was assigned in the FCT and shifted his focus to Rivers State, creating political confusion, this move, he argued, has made Wike a less reliable ally for the President, in contrast, Fubara remains in control of state resources and maintains strong influence at the local level, making him a more practical partner for Tinubu.

‎Pearse noted that, despite Fubara joining the APC, the people of Rivers State remain largely loyal to the PDP and added that the party’s strong grassroots support makes it difficult for APC to secure the state, regardless of the strategies employed.

‎He said Wike’s attempts to intervene in Rivers politics could further limit APC’s effectiveness and reduce his standing with both the President and the electorate, suggesting that Tinubu’s decision to favor Fubara over Wike is a recognition of political reality.

‎“So naturally, I don’t think the President will be working with Wike. He will be working more with Fubara, but no matter what they do, APC is not going to take Rivers State in 2027 because the people are not with either of them,” he said.
